LA CONTEA producer’s sheet

This persuasive blend of Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes is vinified in steel and matures for 18 months in barriques and tonneaux of fine French oak. It then ages in bottle for a minimum period of 6 months. Power and elegance in the same taste.

Characteristic

  • Colour: ruby red tending to garnet red, with great brightness and typical transparency

  • Bouquet: the nose recalls clear and recognizable scents of ripe cherries and cherries, blackberries, plums and graphite

  • Taste: in the mouth it is dry, warm and soft, with a wonderful envelopment on the palate. Velvety tannins, excellent freshness and balance. Spicy and mineral with a long persistence and a pleasant sensation of fruit on the finish

  • Food pairing suggestions: ideal accompaniment to tasty first courses such as pasta with meat sauce or baked pasta. Perfect with grilled red meat and elaborate game and game dishes. It goes well with traditional dishes or mature cheeses
