This fine red wine, which takes its name from one of the slopes cultivated at San Marino, is obtained from the vinification of the best grapes of sangiovese produced on the clayey hills of San Marino.

  • Harvesting period: late September – early October

Wine processing

  • Vinification: fermentation in steel at controlled temperature, maceration on skins for 15 days

  • Ageing: aged in French oak casks for 18 months and for 12 months in bottles

Characteristic

  • Colour: deep ruby red with garnet reflections

  • Fragrance: fine and fruity, notes of red fruits and jams with hints of vanilla, black pepper, liquorice and coffee

  • Flavour: mellow and harmonic, very persistent with noble tannins and just the right acidity

  • Tasting temperature: 16 – 18 °C
