Pinot Nero Mirano – CASCINA LODOLA

CASCINA LODOLA producer’s sheet

Pinot Noir is the cross and delight of the greatest winemakers in the world: a difficult vine to cultivate, it needs special care, a rare work that manages to express itself in all its grandeur only in some environments and in some vintages. This meticulous attention gives unique flavors to the resulting wine. Cascina Lodola has accepted the challenge and has been producing this Pinot Noir since 2018. The result is an absolutely typical and seductive wine, with a characteristic aroma, which recalls small fruits such as currant, blueberry, blackberry and raspberry. A soft, elegant and complex flavor of extraordinary persistence.

My passion for Pinot Noir stems from a trip to Burgundy.
It is a wine for free thinkers, for those who do not allow themselves to be limited, for free souls.
Let’s say it’s my wine, it’s the wine that doesn’t make me sleep, it’s the fixed one that makes me cry but also rejoice. When Pinot Noir is good, it is the perfect wine.
I like Pinot Noir because it is the most minimal grape in the world. It is not as colorful as Cabernet, it is not as soft as Merlot, it is not as powerful as Nebbiolo. Pinot Noir, first of all, is not.
It is dedicated to the one who took over this farmhouse in the 1950s, the one who taught me what the land and the vineyard are.
My grandmother, Mirano Angioletta … a great red for a great woman.
