Langhe Nebbiolo – CASTELLO DI PERNO

CASTELLO DI PERNO producer’s sheet

The Langhe Nebbiolo comes from the Gramolere cru in Monforte d’Alba. Since Castello di Perno’s vines are on a north facing slope, the resulting wine cannot be labelled Barolo. All the better for the wine drinker, because the result is an over-performing Langhe Nebbiolo of excellent concentration and complexity. A shorter maceration than for the Barolo wines ensures an accessible, generous style, but still showing all the subtleties and beauties that characterize Gian Luca Colombo’s handling of the Nebbiolo variety.
