The Barolo comes from fruit grown in the lower parts of the Castelletto cru in Monforte d’Alba. Castelletto is a cool, east-facing cru facing the famous Vigna Rionda cru of Serralunga d’Alba, separated only by a small stream at the bottom of the valley.

Wine processing

  • Winemaking: grapes are de-stemmed and undergo 48 hours cold soak. Maceration takes 30 days, before the wine is moved to large, 50hl Austrian oak Stockinger for two years aging. Prior to bottling, the wine is held in concrete for a short period

  • Style: ethereal, high-toned aromas; pure, luminescent red fruit etched with bright acidity; moderate tannins and a lingering finish

  • Ageing potential: will continue to improve for 10 years after the vintage
