Castellare di Castellina is a cellar of about 80 hectares in the heart of the Chianti Classico area, close to the village of Castellina in Chianti. The vineyard gains for hectare are very small which combined with a good exposure to the sun and a mixed soil of calcareous marls, galestro and little clay makes Castellare wines well structured, intense and suitable for a long ageing in bottle. I Sodi di S. Niccolò, Castellare flagship wine, is one of the few Supertuscans produced using only autochthonous varieties, Sangioveto (85%) and Malvasia Nera (15%).
