The Vineyard of Terre Rosse was built by Enrico Vallania on the nearby hills west of Bologna. A doctor by profession and winemaker by vocation, a passionate researcher, re-founded in 1961 the family business, experimenting with new grape varieties and techniques and replacing old systems with new “cultivars”. The vinification, long and accurate, is made with fermentations at low temperatures and in steel barrels. The total exclusion of the wood reflects the production philosophy: every year is something different and represents the set of memories and sensations in the coming of the seasons.
