Cantina Terlano was founded in 1893. The vineyards lie on volcanic rocks with mineral crystal deposits known in geological terms as quartz porphyry. These distinctive features of the soil make the Terlano wines so unique. The high mineral content gives the wines their distinctive, mineral flavours, a freshness in the mouth and contributes to their longevity. The Cantina preserves currently 100.000 bottles of every vintage going back to 1955, the oldest bottle is from the year of foundation.
