The farm was founded in 1898 by Salvatore Contini. The name Contini has been from synonym of Vernaccia di Oristano, a wine very representative of the Sardinian wine reality. With the aim of studying very deeply the potential quality of grape varieties such as Nieddera and Vernaccia, the farm was able to enhance also other grape varieties such as Sardinian Cannonau and Vermentino, and has set the production into two lines: the prestigious series of the classical Vernaccia, and the other one of more modern conception, called “Contini”, able to meet the needs and tastes of a more and more increasing number of consumers.
